This is My Personal Nightmare
For more information about the My Personal Nightmare horror photography art challenge, please visit this news article.

Recent health problems and a coctail of medication has left me having some really strange and violent dreams of teeth falling out, fingers dropping off, suffocation, eyeballs exploding and other such unpleasantness. On the upside, I've been feeling very creative lately and have enjoyed the rather cathartic experience of exorcising the demons of my nightmares with photography.

Obviously all injuries here are fake :aww:

The four photographs in this set are meant to be seen as a collection, together, all at once.

a very dark and gruesome feeling here. loving the pattern the bandage makes here, and the blood is a great colour in the lighting conditions. must be one hell of a nightmare :noes:

I have a love/hate relationship with the concept of finger amputation. I love it as a visual theme but the thought of any injury to an extremity freaks me out so much. When I was younger, my dad lost the top of his finger in an accident with a boat engine and I remember sitting in the doctor's surgery with him, ooh-ing and ahh-ing at how gross and awesome the finger-stump looked. Turns out people don't appreciate that while they're having their finger-innards cleaned of oil with a metal brush.

oh gruesome :noes: i'm not surprised you have the love/hate relationship. One of my figner cutting images got Geoff all gooey inside because it was marginally close to an injury he had- it was a cut to the bone with a kitchen knife O_o

This one is definitely my favorite of this set, but all four are excellent. ^_^

Did you do the blood on the bandages before or after putting them on?

Thanks  The blood went on after the bandage but I wrapped the whole thing too tightly which is why my fingers are all purple and swollen. Which actually works with the picture, I think.
