2 things firstly the title reminds me of this long article I read that so many of the classical humanoid monsters including medusa and her gorgon sisters resemble dead bodies in various stages of decay (In the gorgon's cases drowned bodies)

but once I look at the model all thoughts of the collection of odd and weird facts are pushed out of my head. I love the sense of motion and that the motion seems to split the image. blurry chaotic hair and calm nose breast etc.

I love the varying stories of Medusa, especially those that tell of her being beautiful - an aspect of the tale that has sadly been lost over time. I think she gets a raw deal

Very much so since I remember at least one version involving her getting raped by a god and then getting punished by the goddess whose Priestess she was, because she violated the sacred temple. Thus being turned so ugly she could turn men to stone. But according to this book her uggly form resembles a corpse left to rot in water. i.e bloated, hair a in tangles, tongue stuck out and swollen popped out eyes etc.

but well other than animals what do we fear more than our own mortality.

Any way great photo and I hope you work with the model a lot more she is a cutie.
