Kitty was posing with the katana for a while and only after I shot this photo did she realise she'd had the blade against her mouth. And there was a fire alarm test happening in the studio at the time so every now and then a huge loud bell wet off and bits of faces were almost removed.
Thanks I can't remember if that's your sword or the one the model brought with her. We had LOTS of weapons going on. One of the swords was considerably sharper than the other and the fire alarms kept going off and making us all jump. I was half waiting for Kitty to stab herself through the face.
It's not a wig, Kitty's hair actually is this colour. The last time I saw her it was a dark green colour and she said she'd dyed it again but I was still surprised to see just how blue it was. We looked funny next to each other cause my hair is bright pink
I didn't even notice how the blade looks like it cutting through Kitty's lip. I read your comment and thought "Squeamish? Why?" and then I saw that bit in the picture. I'm not even sure it was intentional when Kitty did it. I do like that even by accident my photos go to a dark place
The high key lighting was Kitty's idea and it's something I almost never do. I don't think this would've worked any other way, and I did go all dark and weird at the end of the shoot (the shot with the dental speculum).
He he yeh sometimes your model can be right about something that you wouldn't normal do, one of the things I love about working with people. High key and me often don't go hand in hand, but like all styles it has its place and use *thinks guitar and legs *
I'm so happy with ALL the shots from the other day. I'm totally crap and forgot to tell you that they're all on ViolentlyBeautiful.com. Hopefully we can do it again soon, or at least as soon as the lifts and heating at the studio are back in working order
