New best-fake-blood-ever! Pink food colouring (yes, pink, not red) and golden syrup! Not too tasty and stains a LOT, so usage is limited, but it looks damn good!

I just wanted to let you know I used this for a film project (Though I didn't make enough).
I really liked it, I think it turned out very well.

Though my teacher said that I should leave blood to the experts, it still turned out great.

So I wanted to thank you for putting this up.

I'm glad it worked so well. There are so many ways to make fake blood and how good they look depends on lighting, the surface they're on, how they're filmed/photographed. I think its great that people experiment with that stuff so we can all learn from each other, and I totally disagree with your teacher - EVERYONE should play with fake blood :D

I am glad you agree.

And it was a load of fun, even though we got in a bit of trouble with the mall cops ( I was shooting on the roof of a building) and my model kept eating it off her hands once we were done.

I think I shall steal your blood ;P Finally, something useful to do with golden syrup (yea I hate the stuff).
I'm guessing it didn't have the right effect with plain red food dye? Or couldn't you try it?
Fantastic work. It's so contrasting :clap: I'm trying not to get too into detail now. It's quite hard when there's so much I like about this piece

Plain food dye is way too runny. It can work for some stuff, but anything that the blood needs to have visible texture requires a thickener like syrup or glycerine.

Oops I didn't finish what I said :X I do that a lot ;P
I meant to ask didn't red food dye with the golden syrup come out right? ^^;

It was ok, but glycerine is completly colourless so it was easier to mix the right colour up (I've started using a drop of blue food dye too, so the blood keeps a stronger colour under flash).

I've made a similar concoction before. Did you know if you put dish soap, it will help it to not stain?
