Model: ~Simon-P

Shot in the creepy corridors of the building where my studio is. This involved a custom white balance, two flashes, a tripod, a slow shutter speed, some creative zooming, a black vinyl robe, lots of patience, two strange people with nothing better to do on a Sunday afternoon and no digital manipulation.

Somehow this really reminds me of a dream I had last night...really vivid and creepy, but strangely fascinating too. Another deviant commented that it reminded them of a nightmare, but it doesn't for me, it's more like it reminds me of another world. I feel drawn to the figure in black.

...okay, your photo's are very thought-provoking. Well done :D

Wow this is beautiful. I love the green, it's so...eerie. It's like a ghost is standing there. But also reminds me of jesus for some reason. I think the position of the arms and the illusion of light shooting from behind them gives it that effect.

This is such a classic technique in filmmaking too. It really can create some awesome distortions of perception. God Bless Alfred Hitchcock, yo.

I love the coloring in the image. The saturated colors add to the surreal effects. I fucking love it.

That's the best my Sudafed-numbed brain can offer in commentary today. :p

The wonders of decongestants, eh? I decided to murder my cold by taking very strong decongestants and very strong painkillers and my brain hasn't worked right since. It's going to be a weird xmas!

Thanks for the lovely comment. I didn't know this technique was also used in film making. I'm going to be looking out for it now :)

I hope that when the building gets busier with more occupants I can still run around the corridors being weird without anyone minding too much. I had my lights out on the stairs with the help of an extension cord and no-one who went past thought anything of it, apart from asking "Fashion designer or photographer?".

Anytime I'm in long corridors like that I always think of that movie. :giggle: There's a Holiday Inn I stayed at once... The decor looked so much like that in the movie. I wished so bad I could have gone wild with the fake blood in it's hallways. :giggle:

I utterly salute you my sweetest T! It's so easy these days to take the photomanip shortcut, to whip up a fake. I remember being annoyed at losing my Darkroom because the process of developing photographs became outdated with the rise of digital SLRs and all the clever little shutter speed tricks became outdated when it was easier to do it in photoshop, lets hear it for vintage tricks! *whoot* ;) truly exquisite!!!

Strangely enough, there was a photography studio at the end of the corridor. The guy who occupies it is one of my studio-neighbours. I'd never met him before but I thought it only fair to knock the door and warn him about the weirdness outside :giggle:
