Shai had been sleeping next to me in the most adorable curled up on her back sort of position, looking all fluffy and cute for ages. I actually managed to get the camera out, change lenses, attach the flash cord and flash and sit down on the floor beside where she was lying on the couch before she woke up, and then she was kind enough to let me take this photo before she got bored of me and decamped to the windowsill to enjoy the sun.

Shai doesn't usually 'do' modelling, so I was very pleased that she stayed still enough to let me focus right in on her squiffly lil nose with the 50mm f1.8 lens. The focusing isn't completely apparent in the small view, but can be seen in full view mode.

I don't object in the slighest to a bunch of comments saying 'aww kitty!' or, in emote language,

- there's not a huge amount else to say about this photo, and 'aww kitty!' was just about all I was thinking when I took it.
