The last giveaway was really well received so I'm doing another! After the way the last one panned out, one thing I would like to remind you guys of is to PLEASE PLEASE follow the guidelines so you can be properly included. Dialectical Dessertism: The ContestIt has long been debated just how cake and pie came to be bitter enemies (and occassional allies against other desserts). Some say it started in the Middle Ages when butter was first used for both unequally awesome desserts.
While others say it was when cake became a CV and the power went to her head!
At still yet, there is the rumor that is started when pie failed his sobriety test and blamed it all on cake for keeping him out too late.
But maybe none of those are the real story. That's where YOU come in.
What's this Contest About?
It's pretty simple. You're going to answer a very simple question. What is the origin of the pie/cake debacle? How you go about doing that is completely up to you. But since you have complete creative freedom to write history, we're expecting some very interesting (to say the least) renditions.

Emoticon TournamentAfter months of waiting and anticipation, the "Secret Contest" I had planned is here! I bring you, the Emoticon Tournament!

After all the participants are gathered, I will use random.org to match the participants up randomly. I will then select a topic, and then you and your opponent will face off and make an emote based on the theme. You will have 1 week to make the emote, and then our judges will decide the winner of each match up.

If you win your match, you will move on to the next round, and face off another winner

Summer Seaside ContestUs founders have been very inactive lately so to make up for it, we'll be holding an awesome contest for you guys .
Theme
Participants should submit photos/paintings/drawings related to summer, nature and water (can be ocean, sea, lake, anything).

OC Summer Fun in The Sun Contest! Cash Prizes!Time to get this second contest of the year started! The first one I held this year had a decent turn out, but I'm hoping even more people enter this one. What can I say, I enjoy seeing the drawings people come up with for my contests.
If you couldn't tell from the title this contest involves original characters and summer. This will be a "draw yours and my original character" type of contest in which you show the characters enjoying summer. Each entry must have at least one of my characters and one of your characters for it to be eligible. Your character can be a completely original one or an OC from a popular existing universe (pokemon, naruto, bleach, etc) as long as it is your own character. It can even be one that you make up just for this contest. Unlike my last "yours and my oc" contest you will only have two of my OCs to choose from. LTdAB Poetry Slam Submission Folder Open!We had a great time chatting with our participants, prize donors, judges and fellow writers yesterday. The month is approaching its end, and we have finally created and opened our contest folder for the poetry slam. Get those entries in as soon as you feel they are ready, but before the deadline at 11:59 PM CST May 31st, 2013. Here's a rundown of what all we expect an entry to have and be when submitted:

Entries must follow the theme of Self-Identity and must be work written for this contest.

Entries must be literature deviations containing the text of the slam poem with a link to where the audio can be heard.

The performance of the slam poem must be between 1-3 minutes. If it is longer or shorter we will ask you to modify the poem.

Video submissions are accepted (via a link to youtube in the writer's comments of the literature deviation)

I am told that the file type (.mpg) isn't supported, despite the FAQ saying it is

So I can't submit it to dA at all. Still waiting for a response from the Help Desk.

If they don't respond soon, I'll try to submit another file format (but would rather that be a last resort as I am on limited internet bandwidth

)
