Gallery Description ProjectMost of you probably are aware that deviantART has a lot of categories. As you've seen over the past few months, we volunteers, in coordination with $Moonbeam13, often help to orchestrate various changes in category structure in order to make the submission and browsing experiences simpler and more advantageous for the community. That said, there's another aspect of categories which, sadly, often have been overlooked. I'm referring to the Gallery Descriptions. Over time, gallery descriptions have fallen into disarray, leaving many categories with old and outdated descriptions, others with incorrect descriptions, and yet others without a description at all.At the moment, gallery descriptions are most prominent when submitting new deviations. However, as part of this project, we hope that they will become more evident as you browse the site. One of our goals is to make a simple, navigable category structure focusing on descriptions that are clear, concise, and consistent.

Photography Weekly: Edition Forty SixPhotography Weekly Header created by ~TouchedD"Does Equipment Matter?" One of the more recent articles on the topic of photography explores how an instagram photograph taken during Hurricane Sandy has been selected to be used on the cover of Time Magazine. Perhaps quite fittingly, the title accompanying the image on the front page is Lessons from the storm. Whilst many have learned a lot from Hurricane Sandy and many more are working on rebuilding their lives, one of the biggest lessons for photographers and the world of media could well be that iphone Photographers can be photo-journalists too. We've covered the topic of equipment, capabilities and qualifications many a time before now in Photography Weekly - but what are your thoughts on this article?Source: Petapixel Community Relations N

The beginning. The smoke curled into fantastical shapes as Little Timothy watched enchanted by it. It was everywhere. The smoke slowly enveloped the alley in which he stood. "Another building brought down ", thought Little Timothy. He quietly headed home from his routine evening stroll. The way Neon city is slowly encroaching upon the slums reminded him of the way in which water slowly absorbs anything which is smaller than the volume of the water. He walked slowly since he had no intention to get home any minute sooner and face a barrage of rather depressing sights, smells, and swear words. He looked up in the sky to see a zeppelin with an advertising of a
