Greetings true believer! from one seasoned insomniac to another, there are a number of methods to combat insomnia. all of them are crap, sorry to say.
what you can do though, is give into the absence of sleep, and try to make yourself as comfortable as possible. i usually set my alarm, take a shot or five of nyquil, pop in a movie, make myself some hot chocolate, then curl up on the bed with my cat and a cigarette. don't forget to set the volume on "barely audible". by the time i get to the last few minutes of the movie, i'm ready for bed. if not, another mug of hot cocoa, and another movie.
This may either help you or make you laugh but it helps me.
I pray (to God) and before I'm finished doing it I'm already asleep *I am a christian* If that doesn't work then I try to leave my mind blank, it's hard but after I do it I find it easier to sleep. - Somehow, everytime I leave my mind blank a train crosses it I don't know why xD -
