I completely disagree with the genrefication of art and I will never define myself as an (insert genre here) photographer. I do not shoot to formulas and my inspiration rarely comes from pictures other people have taken.
I am inspired by music, films, books, people I know and people I see in the street, conversations I over-hear and random sparks of ideas from nightmares and daydreams. I don't believe that images should be serious OR pretty, disturbing OR comforting, because those things are not mutually exclusive.
Darkness and light come from the same place and the only difference is the mode of expression.
